Woodlands

Take a walk through the woods this spring at the RBSA Gallery. An exhibition alive with the sights and smells of the forest, ‘Woodlands’ showcases jewellery and ceramics inspired by the flora and fauna of Britain’s woodlands alongside innovative work exploring the potentials of wood as a craft medium. Delightful jewellery by Layla Amber Rous, Phoebe Sherwood-Moore and Lucy Ramsbottom is on show together with wooden homeware by Swedish designer Lotta Cole and wood-fired ceramics by Hannah McAndrew.

Buying Scrap Gold & Silver

Presented By: Ian Bayley B.Sc, C.Chem, MRSC & Sally Hoban BA (Hons). This one day course offers training for those who wish to engage in buying scrap gold and silver from the public. It covers basic standards to establish trust and best practice, followed by a comprehensive overview of interpreting UK and foreign fineness marks, testing by touch acid and by XRF. The day includes a visit to the Hallmarking and Melting areas within the Assay Office. Delegates will be trained by experienced experts within The Laboratory and will learn the chemistry behind the testing in order to interpret the results accurately. The course provides 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity. £475 + VAT per delegate maximum of 4 delegates.

Touch Acid Testing Course
